Overview
Artivism Alliance: In Motion! supports artivists of all ages to develop cross-border projects that combine artistic creation with social impact. Selected groups receive mentoring, access to the Artivism Alliance network, and micro-grants. Selected participants are also invited to a residency in March 2027 (location to be confirmed) to deepen connections, strengthen collaboration, and advance their work.
Who may apply
Groups of 2-4 artists with experience in artistic creation for social justice who are committed to collaborative, cross-border work. At least one group member must have a migration background, and at least one must be an active Artivism Alliance member.
Eligible regions
Europe, Africa, MENA regions (Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran).
Project requirements
Projects must use artistic creation (not just a theme) as a tool for social impact; involve collaborators from at least two countries; demonstrate meaningful cross-border collaboration in design, creation, and delivery; engage local communities or audiences in at least one participating country; and be delivered between December 2026 and May 2027.
Grant amounts
- Cross-regional collaborations (group members based in at least 2 different regions, e.g. Africa–Europe, MENA–Africa, or MENA–Europe): up to €2,500
- Same-region collaborations (all group members based in the same region, e.g. Africa–Africa, MENA–MENA, or Europe–Europe): up to €1,500
Eligible costs
The micro-grant covers direct project costs such as materials, production, travel (outside of the residency), communication, and other costs directly related to the project.
