Pixel Pastel 2026

Overview

Pixel Pastel is an international online exhibition presented by the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada (PSEC), held biennially and open to all artists. A jury of 3 renowned pastels artists will judge entries using a grading scale.

Key Dates

• Submissions Open: Monday, August 17, 2026
• Deadline: Friday, October 9, 2026
• Acceptance Notification: Monday, October 26, 2026
• Exhibition Dates: November 15, 2026 – February 15, 2027

Entry Fees

• PSEC Members: $30 USD for up to 3 images with no additional fee
• Non-Members: $40 USD for 1 image + $10 USD each additional image (up to 3 images)
• Fee paid by credit card only; non-refundable

Awards

• Grand Prize (Horace Champagne): $2,000 CAD
• 2nd Prize: $1,500 CAD
• 3rd Prize: $1,000 CAD
• 4 Honorable Mentions

Media & Eligibility

• Works must be ORIGINAL pastels created from your own photo references or personal sources
• Dry pastel must occupy at least 90% of painted surface; other media max 10%
• Oil pastels, mixed media, and varnished pastels not eligible
• Works created in workshops or under instructor supervision not eligible
• Works previously accepted in any PSEC show not eligible

Sales & Commission

All accepted works must be for sale. PSEC retains a 25% commission on all sales made through the website from November 15, 2026 to February 15, 2027. After that period, a 25% donation is appreciated for sales concluded through the website.
