Peripeteia Artist Residency, run by Cooperative Nostates, is located within the historical Piiri mental hospital area in Seinäjoki, Western Finland. Surrounded by parks and conservation areas, the residency provides artists with an inspiring environment, accommodation, and access to tools in a collective workspace. The aim is to provide resources for focused creative work while enabling interaction with the local community and enriching the cultural life of the area.

Apply for residencies lasting 1–3 months. Year-round opportunities available.

Visual art, fiber art, printmaking, architecture, literature, photography, design, composing, sculpture, community art, curation, research, and media art are welcome. Equipment includes Hollander beater, graphic printing press, easels, fabric printing screens, book binding supplies, and internet connection.

Private, lockable bedrooms with wardrobes; shared showers, toilets, and kitchen with basic cooking utensils. A private room in accommodation is suitable for smaller-scale work, writing, or media art, equipped with desks and easels. A separate studio space nearby in Nostates' collaborative workspace includes tables, seating for public events of up to approximately 25 people, and shared facilities with good ventilation. The residency provides a starter set of basic materials; artists are generally expected to cover their own material costs.

Artists are encouraged (optional, not obligatory) to propose projects that foster collaboration with local actors or involve creating art through presence and dialogue with the local community, such as participatory art, workshops, or exhibitions. The cooperative supports artists in finding local partners and collaborators.
