Overview
TBA21 and the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza are launching an open call for their Nocturnal Visits program to accompany the CAUTÍN exhibition by Seba Calfuqueo, curated by Marina Avia Estrada. The exhibition runs from 6 October 2026 to 17 January 2027 in Madrid and presents the Cautín river as an intelligent territory while addressing political and epistemic violence suffered by Mapuche communities.
Formats & Selection
- Performative tour: 3 proposals selected; each presenter performs 2 nights with 2 sessions per night (~45 min each) for 30-40 people. Dates distributed between 24 October 2026 and 16 January 2027.
- Workshop: 1 proposal selected; delivered twice in the museum's Sala Mirador for up to 25 participants, approximately 1 hour duration.
Compensation
- Performative tour: 1,500€ (covering honorarios, travel, accommodation, and materials)
- Workshop: 1,000€
Eligibility
Open to artists, performers, writers, researchers, activists, scientists, and cultural workers resident in Spain, of any discipline.
Selection Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated in two phases: first by the TBA21 team, then by a committee including curator Marina Avia Estrada. Criteria include creativity, technical viability, potential for public participation, alignment with CAUTÍN themes, and attention to accessibility.

Program Details
The Nocturnal Visits program, now in its third edition, transforms the exhibition space into a place for collective encounter and reflection through performative visits, sound interventions, conferences, and readings. The program is free and open to the public.
