Overview
Singapore Art Museum's Research Residencies (Cycle 4) welcomes applications from artists, curators, educators, researchers, and creative practitioners globally. Residents will pursue independent research and are encouraged to engage with communities and the public in Singapore through open studios, screenings, workshops, talks, and experimental public formats.

Who can apply
Open to individuals, duos, and collectives from all mediums and disciplines. International applicants may apply for one to three months; Singapore-based applicants may apply for up to six months.
Thematic strands
- Listening/Attuning: Platforms practices that respond critically to contemporary urgencies
- Making/Material Cultures: Foregrounds material inquiry and the process of making
- Beyond Human/Interdependence: Addresses relationships between humans, technologies, ecologies, and other forms of life
What SAM provides
A shared studio space or co-working space, support from the museum and Residencies team including institution resources, expertise, network building, public engagement opportunities, and scaffolding for interaction and exchange.
Stipends and support
Singapore-based residents receive 1,500 SGD monthly stipend and 250 SGD monthly local allowance. International residents receive 1,500 SGD monthly stipend, roundtrip economy flight, housing arrangement, and visa assistance.
