Get matched →The 2018-2021 re-IMAGE-n exhibition explores new ways of thinking about community engagement and the shared experience of public art. Over 20 years, this Biennale has pushed traditional boundaries by situating artwork in unexpected places throughout the city, moving beyond centralized art parks. Artwork is installed directly on grass and sandy beaches for tactile, less hierarchical personal experiences. The organization encourages participants to connect as engaged participants, not simply viewers. Art is presented as a catalyst for learning about the world, breaking bread across communities, confronting fears and prejudices, and inspiring social action towards a more optimistic future.
Originally planned for 2018-2020, the exhibition was extended due to COVID-19. The extended period provides opportunities to cast the net globally, connect virtually, increase accessibility, and make the experience of art more interactive.
