The Mondriaan Fund's Art Platform Programme supports visual art institutions presenting contemporary visual art with publicly accessible programmes lasting 2 to 4 years. Institutions must be legally established, non-profit entities whose core activity is the public presentation of innovative contemporary visual art in a physical space.
Categories
- Start: For organizations operating fewer than 5 years. €50,000 per year for 2 calendar years (maximum 3 awards per organisation).
- Basic: For professional organisations with at least 2 years of annual programming. €225,000 per year for 4 calendar years.
- Broad: For established organisations at local to international level with at least 2 years of regular annual programming plus extensive activities for diverse audiences. €450,000 per year for 4 calendar years.
Eligibility
Organisations must be legal entities with a primary focus on presenting contemporary visual art in a physical space. Museums, archives, galleries, art fairs, workshops, events, biennials/triennials, online platforms, and festivals cannot apply. Eligibility criteria differ by category.
Budget Requirements
- Start category: At least 10% of budget from third-party contributions or own income.
- Basic category: At least 20% of budget from third-party contributions or own income.
- Broad category: At least 30% of budget from third-party contributions or own income.

- Application deadline: Thursday, February 1, 2024, before 4:00 PM CET / 11:00 AM AST.
- Notification: Start of July 2024.
- Programme period: 2025–2028.
- Next Start category application round: 2026. Basic and Broad applications possible only in 2024.

Submit applications through the Mondriaan Fund's online application system. You must have a Mondriaan Fund account; create one via the website if needed. Only one category per application.

Individuals; organisations primarily focused on collection management (museums, archives); galleries, art fairs, workshops, events, biennials/triennials, online platforms, and festivals.
