Collect Art invites artists worldwide to submit work for the curated exhibition and publication SHADOWS & MONSTERS, exploring fears and monsters—both literal and metaphorical—including personal phobias, mental health struggles, and sociopolitical anxieties.

  • Open to artists worldwide, aged 18 and above
  • Working in various media welcome (painting, drawing, collage, installation, illustration, photography, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, assemblage, fiber art, paper art, printmaking, 3D digital art, glass art, metalwork, and more)
  • Up to 12 photos of your work
  • Details of each work (title, medium, size, year; description optional)
  • Brief biography
  • Artist statement (minimum 100 words each)

  • Participation fee: 55 EUR (in case of acceptance)

Selected artists will be featured in a month-long online exhibition and receive a 2–6 page spread in both print and digital magazines, including biography, artist statement, interview, website link, and 2–10 featured artworks. All published artists receive a complimentary digital issue and a link to order the printed version. The curatorial team will also select exceptional artists for inclusion in upcoming book editions ('101 Contemporary Artists and More…' and '365 Artists to Watch…') and for future exhibitions at the gallery in Tbilisi, Georgia.

This open call is curated by Italian independent Art Curator Alessandro Speciale, based in Italy, within a project framework featuring guest curators from different countries. The curator supports independent curatorial voices to encourage cultural diversity, creative exchange, and meaningful connections across the international art community.

Theme
This themed exhibition explores what lurks beneath the surface of the conscious mind—fears in all their meanings and manifestations. Artists are invited to submit visual interpretations of monsters, both literal and metaphorical, including mythic beasts, demonic figures, personal phobias, mental health struggles, psychological disorders, and unsettling aspects of daily existence from sociological and political perspectives.
