Overview

Kiruna 2029 European Capital of Culture is calling for applications for large and medium-sized artistic projects that can be led by an external organisation as part of the official artistic programme. The initiative invites engagement, broadens perspectives, and encourages creativity and curiosity.

Eligibility

Open to organisations, collectives, artists, producers, and managers. Projects should be led by external organisations and aligned with the Kiruna 2029 artistic concept.

Selection Criteria

Projects are evaluated against five guiding principles: Homemaking, European Adventure, Perspectives, Finding New Ways, and Power of Culture. These criteria shape the official programme and support collaboration in delivering the European Capital of Culture initiative.

Project Size & Funding

Project size can be defined based on duration, financial scope, audience reach, or strategic importance. Kiruna2029 can contribute up to 50% of the total project budget with no specific restrictions on which project costs may be covered.
