About
Associate Artists apply to participate in a three-week interdisciplinary residency program with mentoring artists across various disciplines.
Overview
Atlantic Center for the Arts offers an immersive, inter-disciplinary, tuition-free residency program. The three-week Mentoring Artist-in-Residence (MAIR) program brings together three Mentoring Artists from different disciplines who each select up to eight Associate Artists. The program provides a collegial environment for meaningful interaction, stimulating discussions, and individual or group projects.
Program Features
- Formal classes, discussions, and individual meetings
- Individual and group critiques, collaboration, and studio time
- Access to Leeper Studio Complex with painting studio, sculpture studio, digital media studio, dance studio, music/recording studio, writers' studio, black box theatre, and library
Eligibility
- Open to artists of all disciplines in the United States and abroad
- At least 21 years old at time of residency
- Individual artists or collectives of up to two artists can apply
- Basic command of English language required
Application & Participation
- Apply through Submittable for Associate Artist positions
- Can attend one or more residencies in consecutive sessions upon acceptance with no limit
- Each Mentoring Artist determines requirements and structure of their residency
Costs
The residency is tuition-free. Participants pay for room and board only. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
