About
Overview
The European Union Office to Hong Kong and Macao, the Goethe-Institut, and Eaton HK invite artists to submit artworks or propose community programs interpreting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Finalists will be selected for a major group exhibition at Goethe Gallery HK (curated by Eunice Tsang & Jims Lam) and/or to host a community experience with funding.

Eligibility
Open to all Hong Kong/Macau-based artists. The call does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, color, immigration status, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, artistic training or background.
Submissions
- Maximum 3 artwork submissions per artist; only 1 may be exhibited.
- Artworks must be original and not previously exhibited at Goethe Gallery.
- Community Action Pitch proposals are not counted toward the artwork submission limit.
- Artists of diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Artwork Submission
Showcase your vision of diversity, equity, and inclusion across any medium (painting, digital art, sound art, etc.). Work will be featured in a major curated group exhibition at Goethe Gallery HK this winter.
Community Action Pitch
- Interactive formats: Workshops, screenings, performances, discussions
- Community focus: Programs serving underrepresented groups
- Clear ties to DEI values
- Realistic budget and timeline for a 1-day event at EATON
Selection Criteria
Entries will be evaluated by an independent judging panel based on: (1) Artistic Excellence—creativity, technical execution, conceptual depth; (2) Theme Interpretation—engagement with DEI, representation of underrepresented voices, ability to inspire social awareness; (3) Message and Narrative—addressing urgent social/cultural/political conversations, ability to evoke empathy and reflection.
Awards
- Exhibition in group show at Goethe Gallery HK (Nov–Dec 2026)
- Up to HK$8,000 honorarium to host a community program
- 2-week residency at EATON (grand prize)
Process
- No entry fee.
- Shortlisted artists notified by email in early October.
- Selected artists must confirm participation within 7 days of notification.
- Artwork delivery arranged by artist; installation handled by organizers.
