Dorland Mountain Arts is a secluded retreat where visual artists, writers, musicians, and composers can create in a natural setting near Temecula Valley Wine Country in California. Individual cottages are equipped with WiFi, AC, kitchen, bathroom, workspace, and mountain views. Some cottages feature Steinway or Kimball baby grand pianos.

  • Stay length: 1 week to 6 weeks, based on requests and availability
  • Average 5 artists in residence at a time
  • Private studios with access to piano, painting workspace (oil), easels, printmaking facilities (etching press)
  • Community Arts Center with library, writing desk with typewriter, studio room, meeting room

Open to visual artists, writers, musicians, and composers at any stage of career from anywhere in the world. Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators); collaborative residencies require individual applications and acceptance. Pets are not allowed. Residents may take leave during residency.
