Nature art residency Thassos island, Greece

The Water & Rock artist residency invites creatives and writers in the traditional and picturesque village of Kazaviti on the island of Thassos. The village is nestled in the mountains, surrounded by forest and natural springs, bursting with history. Nature is at the centre of everything we do at Water & Rock, we want to bring awareness to the beauty and importance of the fauna and flora of the island in an aim to build a greater sense of interdependence, for now and for future generations, human and non-human. We invite you to spend some time here and soak up the beauty and energy the landscape has to offer. There is no doubt that the scenery, wildlife and history will inspire you to create something beautiful. The island will be generous to you, and your gift back to her will be your creativity which in turn will inspire others to look at nature differently and cherish the richness, beauty and life that it brings. 2026 Program • Autumn Light // 31st of October to 22nd of November 2026 If your particular thing is light, then this is the month to come… The light is at it’s best and would be hard not inspire anybody to create something beautiful in response. • Art By The Fire // 28th of November to 20th of December 2026 Just as it sounds… End the year in creativity, cozy up by the log fire in a quiet traditional mountain village, delve into that project you have been putting aside and itching to start. 2027 Program • Orchids & Wildflowers // 3rd to 25th of April 2027 // for all creatives • Spring Watch w/ guest teacher Elena Gogou // 1st to 23rd of May 2027 // for all creatives • Making Music w/ guest teacher Tiiva // 5th to 27th of June 2027 // for musicians & producers • Creative Constellations w/ guest teacher Katie Despres // 3rd to 25th of July // for all creatives • Summer Residency // 7th to 29th of August 2027 // for all creatives • Nature Writing w/ guest teacher Joanna Pocock // 4th to 26th of September 2027 // for writers • Autumn Residency // 2nd to 24th of October 2027 // for all creatives • Autumn Residency // 30th Oct to 21st of November 2027 // for writers • Winter Residency // 27th Nov to 19th of December 2027 // for writers Your host Leah Heming is a passionate nature guide, artist and people lover.
