About
Overview
Humboldt-Gymnasium in Trier is being expanded with a new wing and renovated areas. As part of this project, an artwork is needed for the central stairwell of the extension building. The stairwell's constant movement and changing perspectives mean the artwork will be experienced dynamically rather than from a fixed viewpoint.
The Commission
The artwork should enhance the gymnasium expansion and thematically engage with the school's core values—integration, diversity, the evolution of knowledge, future and transformation, curiosity, critical thinking, and self-responsibility—while creating a dialogue with the architecture and exposed concrete surfaces of the stairwell.

Eligibility
Open to all professional artists, artist groups, and artistic craftspeople; no geographic restrictions.
Awards
- First prize: 1,800.00 EUR
- Second prize: 1,400.00 EUR

- Total contract value: 55,784.00 EUR (gross) including materials and artist fees. If the artist is commissioned, the total fee is reduced by the prize amount.
