Get matched →Le Cinématographe is commissioning a permanent artistic installation for its facade and an interior wall visible from the street. This ensemble is conceived as an artistic signal, capable of capturing attention, inhabiting the gaze, and designating a place while opening up an imaginary world. The project balances visibility and mystery, legibility and interpretation, identification and artistic autonomy. The facade work must clearly display the name “le Cinématographe” while resonating with Jacques Demy's universe. The interior intervention will extend this presence, forming a coherent and indivisible artistic whole. Le Cinématographe will move into its new location at 7 allée des Tanneurs in Nantes in January 2027, near Jacques Demy's former family garage, a foundational place for his imagination and cinematic vocation. This geographical and historical proximity deeply influences this artistic commission.
