Funding the Future Associated Residency Program Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity | Cultural Leadership OrganizationBanff Centre for Arts & Creativity As arts, culture, and heritage organizations navigate shifting funding landscapes and increasing financial pressures, leaders need new approaches to generating revenue, building support, and sustaining impact. Strategic fundraising, entrepreneurship, and revenue diversification have become essential leadership capacities for organizations seeking long-term resilience This program equips participants to strengthen fundraising efforts, identify new revenue opportunities, and develop sustainable business models that align with mission and values. Drawing on current thinking in philanthropy, sponsorship, social innovation, and enterprise development, participants will explore practical strategies for growing resources, engaging supporters, and creating resilient organizations prepared for the future. During the program, participants will engage in a dynamic, practice-based learning environment designed to build leadership capacity in fundraising, revenue generation, and organizational sustainability. Guided by case studies, peer exchange, applied exercises, and contemporary examples from the cultural sector, they will explore approaches to diversifying income, strengthening donor relationships, and developing entrepreneurial initiatives. The program emphasizes real-world application, encouraging participants to assess opportunities, challenge traditional funding assumptions, and develop strategies tailored to their organizations. By the end of the program, each participant will leave with a practical roadmap to strengthen revenue generation, expand funding opportunities, and build greater financial resilience. It is well suited to: administrators, managers, and directors in arts and heritage organizations and creative industries creative producers and consultants working with arts organizations education and engagement specialists in these sectors artists (Indigenous, Canadian, and international) community-based arts and heritage workers in urban and rural settings Applicants working outside the arts, heritage, and creative industries must demonstrate in their application how their work will benefit from this program. Artist Stipend Travel Stipend/Material Stipends Residency Fees 3743 Canadian Dollar (CAD) Fee Details Total fee per person (Tuition, Accommodation and Meal Plan) $3 743.25 Application Fee $65 for individuals, $35 for applicants who identify as Indigenous. The application fee is non-refundable. 100% of this fee goes towards the cost of administering the application in SlideRoom.
