Overview
The JD Finish Line Foundation awards Louder Than Words grants to nonprofit organizations that make a difference in diverse and underserved communities throughout 2026.
Key dates
- Cycle 1 (Health & Wellness): April 1 – May 15, 2026
- Cycle 2 (Workforce Development): June 1 – July 15, 2026
- Cycle 3 (Safe Communities): September 1 – October 15, 2026
Eligibility
- Must be a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status
- Must create positive impact specifically on diverse communities
- 51% or more of participants are people of color
- Must demonstrate commitment and capacity to deliver culturally competent services
- Must support efforts to alleviate discrimination and disparities for marginalized groups
Funding
Organizations can request up to $10,000 per grant.
Eligible projects
- Cycle 1: Health & Wellness programming, activities, or scholarships for personal development, active lifestyle, or mental health
- Cycle 2: Workforce Development programming, activities, or scholarships for higher education, vocational training, or career development
- Cycle 3: Safe Communities programming emphasizing public safety and criminal justice reform; building improvements/renovations; emergency needs
What will not be funded
- Political campaigns or attempts to influence public officials
- Organizations that unlawfully discriminate
- Projects promoting a particular church or religious denomination, or construction of religious institutions
- Fraternal, veterans, or labor organizations
- Foundations affiliated with for-profit entities
- Endowments, beauty or talent contests, individual applicants
- Medical, scientific, or academic research
- Travel or trips, schools or academic institutions
