Overview
The 63rd Mid-States Art Juried Exhibition invites artists from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Tennessee to submit original artwork in painting, drawing, graphic arts, collage, sculpture, and mixed media. Artwork must be completed within the last three years and not previously exhibited at the Evansville Museum or in the Mid-States Craft Exhibition.

Eligibility & restrictions
Open to artists residing in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, or Tennessee. Artwork must be original and completed within the last three years, not previously exhibited in the Mid-States Craft Exhibition or at the Evansville Museum. Artwork suspected to have been created primarily using generative AI is subject to rejection. No entries requiring the artist to be present for moving or assembly will be accepted.

Accepted categories: painting, drawing, graphic arts, collage, sculpture, and mixed media. Entries must not exceed 108 inches in any direction and/or 150 pounds.
Fees & entry
$40.00 entry fee entitles submission of up to TWO artworks. All entries must be submitted via CaFÉ. Payment options include credit cards, PayPal, and check. If paying by check, make it payable to the Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science and mail to: Evansville Museum, Mid-States Art Exhibition, P.O. Box 3435, Evansville, IN 47733-3435. Checks must be received by October 9th to be eligible for jurying; checks received after that date will be returned and entry removed.
Awards
Purchase and merit awards, underwritten by individuals, corporations, foundations, and philanthropic organizations, will be presented at the December 13th Awards Reception. Purchase award-winning works become part of the Evansville Museum's permanent collection. The Museum will not collect any sales commission.
Delivery & insurance
Works selected for exhibition must be delivered in person or shipped PREPAID between October 23-31, 2026. In-person delivery arrangements must be pre-arranged with staff; shipping can only be accepted during Museum hours (Thursday-Saturday 11am-5pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm). Maximum museum insurance for any entry is $5,000. The Museum will not be responsible for insuring work in transit or works unclaimed after March 13, 2026. Exhibited work may be picked up April 1-9, 2027; pickup arrangements must be made with staff. Shipped work will be returned in the method it was received. All shipping costs and liability are the responsibility of the artist.
