Overview

Midtown Park is a signature urban oasis in the geographic heart of Houston, designed with a $40 million investment by the Midtown Redevelopment Authority and an additional $8 million raised through a dedicated capital campaign. The park features a reflecting pool, bayou-inspired landscape, great lawn, interactive art installations including a 16-foot-tall mosaic mural by Dixie Friend Gay, play areas, and a dog park.

Hours & Location

Open daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Located at 2811 Travis St, Houston, TX 77006, accessible via METRORail, bicycle, or car.

Parking

• Weekday Business Hours: 0–30 minutes free; 30 minutes–1 hour $2; 1–2 hours $4; 2–3 hours $7; 3–4 hours $9; 4+ hours $12 daily max
• Evenings after 6 PM + Weekends: 0–30 minutes free; $10 flat rate
• Event Parking: $15 flat rate

Park Rules

• Camping and overnight stays are strictly prohibited
• Alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, unauthorized food distribution, and panhandling are prohibited without prior approval
• Drones, model aircraft, and remote-controlled devices are prohibited
• Motorized vehicles (scooters, skateboards, off-road vehicles) on natural surfaces are prohibited
• Swimming, bathing, fishing, and use of watercraft are prohibited
• Firearms, weapons, and fireworks are prohibited
• Glass containers, metal detecting, and littering are prohibited
• Disturbing, damaging, or removing trees, plants, or wildlife is prohibited
• Loudspeakers and amplified sound are prohibited
• Staking, drilling, digging, hammering, or attaching items to park property is prohibited
• Clothing deemed inappropriate includes obscene language or graphics, swimwear without proper cover-up, visible undergarments, or clothing that exposes excessive portions of the body

Restroom Hours

Restrooms are open Monday–Friday 11:00 AM–1:00 PM and 4:30 PM–6:30 PM; Saturday–Sunday 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 5:00 PM–7:00 PM.

Dog Park Rules

• Dogs must be at least four (4) months old and current on vaccinations
• Maximum of two (2) dogs per person
• Guardians must clean up after their dogs; waste bags are available at pet stations
• No animals other than dogs or domestic cats are permitted
• Children under 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
• Dogs must always be with their guardian and maintain control at all times
• Dogs must remain leashed when entering and exiting the dog park
