Creative Aging Tennessee IV is a two-year initiative funded by E.A. Michelson Philanthropy, the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, and the State of Tennessee. It connects vital resources to under-resourced communities to provide arts programming to older adults through nonprofit senior centers and governmental entities, especially in rural communities and urban counties with art deserts.
Who May Apply
Only nonprofit senior centers with 501c3 status and governmental entities (including universities and colleges if governmental) providing programs to older adults are eligible. Applicants must be legally chartered in Tennessee.
Funding
- Up to $4,000 in grant funding per year for artist fees and supplies
- Reimbursement after project approval and completion
Program Requirements
- Classes must run between 4-12 consecutive weeks
- Older adults defined as 60 years old and above
- Artists must be from TAC's Creative Aging Artist Roster
- Programs must take place in senior centers or governmental entities accessible to target communities
Acceptable Art Forms
Visual arts, craft, media, design, music, theater, dance, folk and ethnic, and literary arts are acceptable, including jewelry making, quilting, and storytelling.
