Overview
Creative Aging Tennessee IV, funded in part by E. A. Michelson Philanthropy and the National Assembly of State Arts Agencies and the State of Tennessee, connects vital resources to under-resourced communities to provide arts programming to older adults through nonprofit senior centers and governmental entities. Programs support sequential arts instruction in rural communities and urban counties with "art deserts" to address social isolation and reduce barriers to arts participation.
Eligibility
- Nonprofit senior centers with 501c3 nonprofit status, or governmental entities (including universities and colleges if governmental)
- Legally chartered in Tennessee
- Serving older adults aged 60 and above
- One application per project; partners cannot apply for the same project

- Examples include jewelry making, quilting, storytelling
Program Requirements
- Sequential arts instruction in a sustained, organized fashion with classes running 4-12 consecutive weeks
- Employ teaching artists from TAC's Creative Aging Artist Roster, trained in aging and effective program delivery
- Must take place between August 1, 2026 and June 1, 2027
- Programs must occur in senior centers or governmental entities close to target communities to ensure accessibility
Funding & Awards
Applicants may apply for up to $4,000 in grant funding per year for artist fees and supplies. This grant does not require a match. Funding is awarded on a rolling/first-come, first-served basis.

How to Enter
Applicants must select an artist from TAC's Creative Aging Artist Roster and upload a signed contract between the artist and applicant organization. All applicants are required to have a Unique Entity ID (UEI).
