About
Overview
Blue Line Arts in Roseville, CA presents an exhibition highlighting wearable art and adornments. Art and clothing have a distinct relationship that allows people to express themselves in ways that transcend fashion and transform fine art into kinetic expressions activated by the implied human form. Wearable art has a rich history spanning centuries, becoming prominent in American culture in the 1970s through hippie and mod subcultures, craftivism, fiber arts, and feminist art. In recent years, upcycling has turned discarded materials into fine art wearables addressing the environmental impacts of fast fashion. Blue Line Arts seeks artists working within the cross-section of fine art, fashion, and craft to showcase pieces that use the body and its vestments as a canvas, creating unique expressions that challenge traditional confines of fine art.
