Overview

Against the Grain: A Choreographers' Convening is a FREE one-day gathering for NYC choreographers and movement-based artists to imagine new ways of building a more connected, generous, and liberatory arts ecosystem. Convening around an evolving set of shared values, the day will include group discussions, an intergenerational artist panel, a movement workshop, and a generative resource-building session. The convening will be facilitated by Audrey Thao Berger and ankita sharma, with guest artists Eiko Otake, Yara Travieso, Symara Sarai, and Anh Vo.

Socially-engaged movement-based artists based in the NYC Metro Area who have been creating movement-based work professionally for at least three years.

NYC Metro Area choreographers and movement-based artists with at least three years of professional experience creating movement-based work
