About
Overview
Van zolderraam tot koekoeksklok is a public art commission supporting artists to create temporary works for publicly accessible spaces. This example features Simon Wald-Lasowski's installation Can't face another sad salad!, where an attic window is transformed into a cuckoo clock—every half hour a plump turkey emerges, extends its long tongue, and lets out a scream, creating playful interruptions in daily life dominated by efficiency and market demands.
Exhibition
Can't face another sad salad! is displayed on the Hasebroekstraat in Amsterdam until the end of January.
Program
The work is part of Welcome Stranger, an initiative since 2020 that invites artists to create new temporary artworks for the façade of their own house. Multiple public artworks have been created across the city through this program. In 2021, 4 façade artworks received financial support via pandemic relief funding.

Supported by Art Commission (2021-2024).
