About
Overview
The 47th Biennial Museum Exhibition presents contemporary regional art in partnership between the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and the Montgomery Art Guild. The exhibition will showcase paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, photographs, computer graphics, mixed media, fiber art, and fine crafts by Alabama's contemporary artists.

Eligibility
- Alabama residents only
- At least 19 years of age
- No membership requirements required
Submission Requirements
- Submit up to 5 pieces of original artwork
- Entry fee: $15 per submission
- Artwork must be original and created by the artist
- No artwork created from photos or internet images not personally taken or copyrighted by the artist
- No AI assistance permitted in creating work or photographing artwork
- All submissions will be reviewed for copyright infringement and AI use
Awards
Cash awards totaling $5,250 will be distributed to selected artists.
Exhibition Details
Opening reception and awards ceremony Friday, December 18, 2026, 5:00-5:30 PM. Juror's critique and gallery talk to follow at 6:00 PM. Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments in the Lowder Gallery, 6:00-7:30 PM. This year's juror is Gary Chapman, Professor Emeritus of Painting and Drawing, University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Delivery & Pickup
All artwork must be hand delivered to the museum. No shipped artwork will be accepted. Delivery is Monday, November 30, 2026, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pickup is Monday, March 15, 2027, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
