CERF+ Craft Emergency Relief Fund

Program Overview

The Emergency Relief Grant program provides one-time $1,000 grants to support individual craft artists who have experienced an unforeseen, substantially disruptive emergency in the last 90 days. If awarded, funds can be used in any way towards immediate relief and/or recovery efforts. A final grant report is not required. 1099s are not issued. Individuals who have previously received a relief grant are not eligible to apply. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed in the order received.

Eligibility

• Be an individual craft artist
• Age 18 or older
• Reside and work in US, US Territories, Tribal Nations, or Indigenous Communities for the last two years
• Have a public-facing craft practice
• Have experienced an unforeseen, substantially disruptive emergency in the last 90 days
• Have not previously received an emergency relief grant
• Craft practice does not include hate speech or symbols

Eligible Mediums

• Basketry, beadwork, book art, bones, ceramic, concrete, fiber, furniture, glass, gourds, jewelry, leather, media, metal, mixed media, mosaic, paper, plastic, recycled materials, sculpture, shells, textiles, wearable, wood
• Handmade printmaking techniques (woodcut, linoleum, etching, engraving, lithography, and certain silk screening)
• Fashion/clothing of original design handmade by the designer
• Musical instruments or puppets if primary to practice
• Multi-disciplinary or mixed-medium work where craft is primary

Application Process

ID verification through ID Pal is required and applications are not considered complete until submitted. Applicants can expect a response by email within 10–15 business days of submitting a complete application. Applications are available in English and Spanish. Individuals may assist an artist in applying with their permission.
