AHC Residency 2027 – Copenhagen, Denmark

Overview

AHC Residency 2027 is a five-month residency programme for professional visual artists hosted by Art Hub Copenhagen. Three to four artists are selected for each of two annual semesters: 1 February to 30 June, and 1 September to 31 January. The programme focuses on artistic development, knowledge sharing, and professional communities. There is no requirement to produce finished artwork during the residency.

Eligibility

• Open to professional visual artists who are EU/EEA citizens or hold long-term residence permits
• Must hold a master's degree in visual arts or equivalent professional background
• Must have completed education or worked professionally for minimum three years by residency start
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Not open to UK residents
• Must be able to attend AHC daily in Copenhagen; artists unable to do so should apply to AHC Remote Residency instead
• Application as a duo is possible, with shared monthly fee and studio
• Open to artists at different career stages

Programme Benefits

• Monthly fee of DKK 21,000, including material money

• Assistance finding accommodation in Copenhagen with financial support toward a room in the Copenhagen area

• Submit online via official digital application form
• Include CV (maximum 1 page) and photo material (maximum 3 pages)
• Application form must be completed in English
• Applications submitted after 23:59 deadline will not be accepted
• Applicants will receive automatic system reply plus confirmation email

• Potential for the residency to accelerate development and complexity of the practice
• Applicant's motivation and readiness to complete the residency
• Breadth and diversity in practice and identity among those selected

Special Notes

Performing artists working with performance are welcome to apply, but AHC's facilities cannot accommodate performance, dance, or theatre rehearsals requiring larger spaces; such applicants are advised to consider whether AHC's facilities suit their practice or to look into the residency offered by AHC's colleagues at HAUT instead.
