This is an accessibility resource document from the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) describing accommodations and support services available to artists and participants with disabilities.

GCAC has partnered with Art Possible Ohio to provide support to artists with disabilities completing GCAC grant applications. Contact Lori Esposito at [email protected] to schedule time. Reach out early—emails received within a week of a grant deadline will not be accommodated.

The GCAC office at 182 East Long Street has wheelchair-accessible entrance. Ring the buzzer at the front door. Staff can provide curbside assistance with advance notice (request the day before). Wheelchair seating available upon request. Gender-neutral accessible restrooms on first floor.

Materials available in large print or digital formats on request. Audio description services available for select programming (request two weeks in advance). Curb-to-seat service provided by staff (request one day prior). Braille restroom signage on first floor.

American Sign Language interpreters available upon request (two weeks advance notice). Open captioning available (two weeks advance notice). Assistive listening devices may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Preferred seating provided to anyone requesting ASL or captioning.

GCAC has computers available to the public for applications. Call 614-224-6606 or email [email protected] to reserve time at least 48 hours in advance.

Virtual presentations use high contrast and large font where possible. ASL interpretation and open captioning available upon request (two weeks advance notice). Event recordings can be captioned. For presentations requiring low-vision accessibility, provide two weeks notice.

GCAC offices are located in downtown Columbus and served by COTA bus routes with accessible fixed-route buses that lower to the curb and have wheelchair ramps. COTA Mainstream provides shared-ride service for those with functional limitations. Additional options include Uber, Lyft, Yellow Cab, and Express Cab of Columbus. Parking available at meters on East Long Street and surface lot on the east side of the building.

Website translation available in ten languages: English, Arabic, Amharic, Chinese, French, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, and Spanish. Translation and interpretation services available on request (request two weeks in advance).
