Lyrical Jewelry is a juried exhibition exploring the connection between music and wearable art jewelry, presented by The Jeweler's Saw Co-op in partnership with Art for the People Gallery. The exhibition invites jewelry artists to create work inspired by a favorite song lyric, with pieces displayed alongside the lyrics that inspired them during Austin's ACL Music Festival.

  • Open Call: June 29th - August 26th
  • Exhibition Dates: October 2nd - October 30th
  • Submission Deadline: Wednesday, August 26th, COB

Open to artists at different stages of their careers, including students, emerging artists, and established makers. All submissions must be wearable, meaning they fit some part of the human form without harm to the wearer. No commercially manufactured jewelry will be considered.

Artists are encouraged to interpret the lyric theme broadly. A lyric may become a starting point for a material choice, a formal structure, a personal memory, a political statement, a love letter, a moment of grief, a celebration, or something entirely unexpected. The work does not need to illustrate the lyrics literally.

Work accepted in a wide range of materials and approaches, including traditional metalsmithing, enamel, fiber, found objects, mixed media, and experimental contemporary jewelry. Wearable work with a retail value of $5000 or less.

  • Best of Show: $500
  • People's Choice: $400
  • Best Student Work: $300

All selected works must be available for sale at AFTPG during the exhibition. AFTPG retains 50% commission for sales. The gallery will display pieces in person and online, handle sales, and ship items to buyers.
