Aviário Studio Artist Book Residency promotes exploration and production in the artist book field. Artist books are objects that take the shape or dynamics of a book, made by an artist. The residency provides technical conditions, time, and space to develop ideas and try new approaches, and promotes connection and knowledge exchange between artists from different backgrounds.

Open to artists of any career stage based anywhere in the world. Must be over 21 years old at time of arrival and able to cover residency fee, travel, materials, and food. Spouses/partners allowed for full stay (non-collaborators). Pets are not allowed.

  • Studio support (training or assistance): 20€ per hour

Shared or dedicated studios with partial accessibility. Book arts facilities include etching press, drying racks, light tables, silkscreen studio, and darkroom. Additional equipment for ceramics, printmaking, drawing, metal work, and woodworking available.

Private bedroom in shared housing facility on campus. Residents have access to shared kitchen; meals not provided.
