About

Overview

The Old Florida Celebration of the Arts takes place on historic 2nd Street in Cedar Key, an island community 60 miles SW of Gainesville on Florida's Gulf Coast. This juried outdoor festival attracts up to 10,000 visitors annually and has been ranked in Sunshine Artist's 200 Best for the past four years. Established in 1964 as the Cedar Key Sidewalk Arts Festival, it was revived in 2006 as a fine arts show.

  • Event dates: April 3-4, 2027
  • Location: Historic 2nd Street, Cedar Key, Florida
  • Hours: Saturday 10 am-5 pm, Sunday 10 am-4 pm
  • Set-up: Friday 6 pm-10 pm, Saturday 6:30 am-9 am
  • Take-down: Sunday 4 pm-7 pm
  • Booth space: 10 ft x 12 ft
  • Outdoor setting

Eligibility & Restrictions

Invite-only event. Fine artists and artisans in all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Handicrafts and production work are not acceptable.

Awards & Prizes

Approximately $14,000 in prize money and purchase awards. Complimentary continental breakfast both mornings and a private Artist's Reception and Awards Ceremony Saturday evening sponsored by the Cedar Key Arts Center.

  • Jury fee: $25
  • Booth space (upon acceptance): $200

Artist Amenities

Volunteers assist with set-up and take-down and are available throughout the weekend as 'block captains.' An artist and volunteer hospitality center is open both days at the Arts Center.
