The Château de Monthelon, DRAC Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, and the Yonne prison service (SPIP) offer a mediation and action residency for a female visual artist at Joux-la-Ville detention center. The residency focuses on workshop facilitation with 6–8 incarcerated women rather than creation of personal artwork.

Eligibility

• Female visual artist
• French language proficiency required
• No geographic restriction (international applicants welcome)
• No age limit
• Driver's license and autonomous transportation required
• Workshop experience with specific publics (healthcare or educational settings) preferred but not mandatory
• No prior prison experience required

The residency

• 40 hours of workshops with 6–8 incarcerated women

• Focus on mediation and action, not personal artwork creation
• All visual media accepted subject to detention center security constraints

• 4,000 € total envelope (not net artist fees)
