About the Exhibition
Scales in a Human Landscape explores how each subject understands themselves between their surroundings and the individuals they choose to be or become. The exhibition features nine artists meditating on how subjects remove themselves from their surroundings while reaffirming themselves both in their uniqueness and in their community. Themes include family stories, invisible paths in everyday life, space and abstraction, self-care and female bodies, metropolitan experience, geometric painting, scent and perception, and the critique of male-dominated cultural narratives through contemporary female artistic response.
