Position Overview

Museologist position at the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS) and Paço das Artes in São Paulo, Brazil. The role involves developing and updating museological plans, programs, and projects, assisting with research, exhibitions, and the creation of an Audiovisual Research and Reference Center.

Key Responsibilities

Elaborate and update museological plans, programs and projects such as Statutes, Bylaws, Collections Policies, Collections Management and Conservation Plans, Museological Plans, among other operational instruments of the Museums
Assist the MIS and Paço das Artes nuclei with research and information related to the institutions' collections
Assist in the preparation of temporary and long-term exhibitions of the collections
Assist in the creation of the Audiovisual Research and Reference Center
Elaborate research projects, scientific articles, public calls (public notices), seminars, conferences and other types of scientific and cultural events
Prepare reports, technical reports and data records in their area of expertise, working to meet the goals of the Collection Program
Participate in meetings and technical committees of the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the Government of the State of São Paulo
Other actions compatible with the requirements for exercising the function

Requirements

Diploma in Museology, duly registered, from a higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education
Professional Registration by the Regional Council of Museology of the 4th Region (COREM 4R)
Proof of payment of annuity for the current year

Desirable Qualifications

Experience with audiovisual, photographic and contemporary art collections.
