Opportunity SummaryThe Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) is seeking qualified artist(s) to create original, site-specific artwork for the City of Fort Pierce parking garage. Each of the five floors will represent a different FPRA district: Downtown Fort Pierce, Fisherman’s Wharf, Lincoln Park, Peacock Arts District, and South Beach, while maintaining a cohesive, sophisticated, and distinctly Fort Pierce aesthetic.The project includes exterior wall murals and designs for the elevator doors and interior elevator cabs. General InformationThe Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) is seeking qualified artist(s) to create original, site-specific artwork for the City of Fort Pierce parking garage. Each of the five floors will represent a different FPRA district: Downtown Fort Pierce, Fisherman’s Wharf, Lincoln Park, Peacock Arts District, and South Beach, while maintaining a cohesive, sophisticated, and distinctly Fort Pierce aesthetic.The project includes exterior wall murals and designs for the elevator doors and interior elevator cabs. FPRA may select one or multiple artists for the project.Project ComponentsMultiple Project ComponentsArtists may apply for one or more project components.FPRA may select:One artist for the exterior mural walls and elevator-door designs.A separate artist for the interior elevator cab artwork.Multiple artists for different floors or components, if determined appropriate.One artist or artist team for the entire project.Submitting an application does not guarantee selection for any particular component. 2. Design and Painting ResponsibilitiesThe selected artist(s) will be responsible only for the scope of work identified in their agreement with FPRA.For the exterior mural component, the artist will design and paint the exterior mural walls surrounding the elevator doors.For the elevator-door and interior elevator cab components, the artist will provide artwork designs and final digital files for production. FPRA will utilize a separate vendor to produce and install the elevator-door and interior elevator cab vinyl wraps.The selected artist(s) will not be responsible for the fabrication or installation of the vinyl wraps unless specifically stated in the executed agreement. 4. Artwork and Design ApprovalAll artwork concepts and final designs must be reviewed and approved by FPRA before painting or production begins.FPRA may request reasonable revisions to ensure the artwork meets the project’s artistic direction, architectural requirements, and overall vision.No artwork may be painted or submitted for wrap production without FPRA approval. 5. Artistic VisionFPRA is seeking a departure from traditional, highly saturated public murals. Artists are encouraged to explore a cleaner, softer, and more refined visual approach using subtle Florida-inspired colors, organic forms, layered imagery, and thoughtful compositions.The artwork should draw inspiration from the natural beauty, history, culture, architecture, and character of Fort Pierce. Eligibility CriteriaThis Call for Artists is open to qualified individual artists, professional artists, muralists, graphic artists, and artist teams with experience relevant to the project. Artists may apply individually or as a team.
