Apply for an 8 or 12 week Artist in Residence at Bryn Du Mansion in Ohio, where you will create artistic work and engage the local community.
Overview
The Bryn Du Artist in Residence Program provides an inspirational setting for the creation of artistic works by one artist at a time, of any discipline. The program enhances local awareness and engagement in the arts by introducing new and varied artists to the Granville community. Artists of all disciplines are welcome, including visual arts, literature, music, theatre, fashion, dance, storytelling, and audiovisual studies.

- Application window: June 1 – August 31 each year for residencies in the following calendar year
- Residency seasons available: Winter (January-March), Summer (June-August), Fall (September-November)
- Submission deadline for 2027 residencies: August 31, 2026
Residency Details
- Duration: 8 or 12 weeks (artist chooses upon application)
- Location: Artist in Residence cottage on Bryn Du Mansion grounds, Granville, Ohio
- Housing: Private housing on campus (individual apartment/cabin/house)
- Accessibility: Partially accessible (50% or more)
- One artist in residence at a time
Eligibility
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be a US citizen
- Open to artists of any stage of career
- Open nationwide to all disciplines
Community Engagement
All artists in residence are expected to provide a minimum of 2 community engagement activities per month, which will be agreed upon by Bryn Du and the artist prior to the residency. Activities may include artist talks, presentations, or public workshops.
Fees & Stipend
- Non-refundable application fee: $25
- Stipend: $2,000 for 8 week residency; $3,000 for 12 week residency
- No residency fees charged
- No meals provided

How to Apply
Submit applications online between June 1 and August 31 at https://www.bryndu.com/airapplication. Upon applying, artists will specify which seasons they may be interested in and whether they prefer an 8 or 12 week residency.
