About
Overview
The Horton Arts Centre is commissioning a minimum of two and a maximum of three panoramic artworks for internal window niches along its main corridor, inspired by the history of music therapy at Horton Hospital. The music therapy programme began at Horton in 1955, the first of its kind in Europe. The selected artist will be presented with rich visual, sonic and textual source materials. This project is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Eligibility
Open to artists and designers working in collage, print, drawing, painting, photography, photogravure, and anyone whose work might suit the brief. The artwork proposed does not have to be 2D.
Payments
- £2,350 per artwork (minimum two artworks: £4,700; maximum three: £7,050) inclusive of expenses
- Up to £1,500 additional for production, materials, reproduction, mounting and installation
- £250 paid to each of three shortlisted artists to develop a concept (rough sketch of Scene 1 with detailed description and production budget)
- One of the three shortlisted artists is then commissioned to make the final artworks
