Overview
For the first time, the KPM Berlin foundation awarded an artist residency through Art Düsseldorf to an artist from the NEXT section. A jury of representatives from the Düsseldorf and Berlin art scenes selected Emil Urbanek, represented at the fair by Berlin gallery Weserhalle, for this inaugural residency.
About the Residency
The two-week residency at KPM Berlin (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin) allows artists to work with the manufactory's master painters on porcelain. Emil Urbanek created the collection "Never Empty" during his residency, which was shown at the KPM Pavilion during Berlin Art Week.
