No preparation is necessary! Participants are encouraged to bring objects with as much fine detail and delicate structure as possible. Thin, flat, textured objects tend to produce the best results, such as ferns, fine grasses, small flowers, seed pods, delicate fabrics, paper cut-outs, intricate metal objects, or fine wire structures.
The workshop is free, but a donation is appreciated!
Silhouettes is a workshop that builds on the experiments of 19th-century botanist Anna Atkins. Using the parameters of cyanotype, a photographic printing process that uses sunlight and no camera, combined with an introductory writing exercise, we aim to create a unique print. All materials and supplies are included.
