Overview

The kulturwerk of the bbk berlin is a non-profit subsidiary of the berufsverband bildender künstler*innen berlin (the professional association of visual artists in berlin) whose primary goal is to establish favourable conditions for artistic production. The services are available to all professional visual artists in Berlin and enable them to work with unrestricted artistic freedom, independently of the pressures of conformity and commercialisation.

Services Offered

• Sculpture workshop with industrial-scale machinery for wood, metal, stone, ceramics, plaster, plastics, and 3D scanning
• Printing workshop for traditional printing techniques (book printing, etching, lithography, serigraphy, offset printing) and digital formats; also papermaking and bookbinding advice
• Media workshop for art videos, multi-media performances, installations, interactive art, with green-screen studio and media lab
• Office for Art in Public Space for accessing spaces and professional opportunities through transparent competitions
• Office for Artist Consultation providing advice to visual artists from Germany and abroad
• Studio Office offering advice, support for subsidised studios and studio apartments, and studio project development
