The Kreissparkasse Bersenbrück offers the Franz Hecker Stipendium to young visual artists working in painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography. The stipend provides the opportunity to work artistically for three months without major financial burden. The stipendium is named after Franz Hecker (1870–1944), a painter and printmaker born in Bersenbrück who worked throughout his life in Osnabrück and the surrounding region.

The selected fellow spends three months (April–October 2027) at Hasemühle in Bersenbrück, dedicating time primarily to artistic work. Hasemühle, originally a monastery mill (1293), now functions as an event and exhibition space. Accommodation is provided in an adjacent apartment. All costs associated with the residency are covered by the fellow.

Fellows must present the artistic works created during the residency in the exhibition spaces of the Kreissparkasse Bersenbrück at the conclusion of the fellowship or at an agreed-upon time.
