The Paseo Project's 2027 Hotel Willa Artist-in-Residence, Taos New Mexico

Overview

The Hotel Willa Artist-in-Residence Program invites artists across all disciplines to apply for a one-month residency in Taos, New Mexico in 2027. This self-directed residency offers time and space to develop creative work in a vibrant cultural landscape surrounded by the scenic beauty of the Southwest. Artists are invited to offer an artist talk and open studio on the third Thursday of their residency.

Residency Details

• Location: Hotel Willa, Taos, New Mexico (historic downtown district)
• Duration: 1 month
• Available months: February, March, April, July, August, October, November, and December 2027
• Accommodation: Private one-bedroom suite on site with kitchenette, five-minute walk to Taos Plaza
• Studio: Private on-site studio space with work surfaces, chair, easel, sink, desk lamp, rolling cart, and cutting mat
• Support provided: Housing, studio space, bicycle, restaurant discounts/vouchers
• No pets allowed; couples and families not accommodated at this time

Eligibility

Open to emerging, mid-career and professional creatives working in all disciplines. Must live or work in the Four Corners region or within a 300-mile radius of Taos, New Mexico. Not applicable for Taos County residents.

Application Requirements

• 3-5 reference images
• Artist statement and project proposal
• Artist bio, resume, or CV

Fees

No application fee. However, artists are responsible for their own travel, materials, and meals.
