About

Overview

Nordingrå Konstby's artist residency is open to all artists of any discipline. The residency is self-funded and self-directed. You will be allocated your own accommodation and work studio in the heart of a dynamic and growing art community in the renowned High Coast of Sweden.

Duration and accommodation

  • Duration: two or four weeks
  • Accommodation in the main building with private bedroom and work studio (up to 20 m²)
  • Shared kitchen and bathroom with up to two other studios
  • Linen provided, wifi available, washing machine equipped
  • Partners or children may be accommodated in some studios; contact for details
  • Located 5 km from a small community with supermarket and pizza restaurant; local bus stops outside

Facilities and support

In addition to your own studio, the art village includes a gallery, summer café, antiquarian bookstore, art boutique, and artists' organisation with studios equipped for printmaking, letterpress, tufting, metal and enamel work. We will contact you prior to arrival to plan your studio setup and discuss any specific equipment needs.

Fees

  • 2200 SEK (approximately €200) for a two week period in the smallest studio
  • 6600 SEK (approximately €590) for a four week period in the largest studio
  • Artists must secure their own funding; we will provide a letter of recommendation to support grant-seeking if needed

Expectations

At the end of your residency, you are invited to hold a pop-up exhibition in the art boutique, open to the general public. This is an opportunity to show your work and connect with local and visiting artists and art lovers. We encourage you to share our social media accounts and hashtags during your stay.
