Overview
Keys to the Art World is a 24-week mentorship program for emerging artists with a developed style, designed to teach the business side of art. Led by professional artist Kristen Guest, the program covers studio practice, marketing, pricing, collector development, and multiple income streams. The program culminates in a group gallery show in December.

Eligibility
Designed for painting and drawing artists with proficiency in painting or completion of Level 3 classes. Artists should have a developed, recognizable style. Prerequisites: artists looking to develop their style should take 2-3 sessions of Finding Your Artist Style class before joining.
What You'll Learn
- Studio Practice: working in a series, scheduling, goal-setting, business organization
- Presentation & Collectors: artist branding, storytelling, identifying ideal collectors, pricing, shipping
- Selling & Marketing: building collectors lists, nurturing authentic following, commissions, art fairs, prints, galleries, solo shows
Application
Free to apply. Submit your application online or in-person at Art on 30th. The application is short and straightforward. Websites and Instagram accounts are not required as learning about them is part of the program.
Gallery Show
Both spring and fall semesters host a year-end group show at Ashton Gallery. This is the largest, most attended show the gallery has hosted for the past four years. Artists in the program help with promoting, marketing, inviting attendees, gallery decoration, and post-show private viewings, gaining real-world experience in the business side of art.
