About
Overview
Research Camping returns for its fourth edition, transforming the spaces of Lavanderia a Vapore into hybrid environments between fiction and reality that function as devices for exchange and dissemination of artistic research processes. The Camping hosts research while constituting itself as a research inquiry into imagining social and political alternatives.
Theme: Sliding Bodies
The 2025 edition investigates slipping as posture and relational dynamic, as anatomy of interdependence, articulating thematically the inclination toward the unfamiliar, the circularity of sharing, and failure as privileged powers for rewriting symbolically a new world. The spaces that embody these dynamics are the shop and the slide—spatialities that encourage slopes and solicit new modes of relation and negotiation of precarious balances.
Who May Enter
The call is directed at artists and researchers with articulated proposals developed from their own research practice, in resonance with the edition's questions and the Research Camping dimension.
Proposal Formats
Proposals may include research practices shared with a group of people who practice and/or observe multimodal research materials (sounds, words, images, texts, objects, etc.) organized in space to be traversed by participants, also as installation. Proposals may be placed in one of the Camping spaces (shop or slide), must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes, and must be compatible with the rotation and cohabitation of other proposals.
Key Principle
The sharing of space and time is a curatorial and organizational principle of the Camping, intended as a collective and shared experience.
