The 12th Recycling Design Prize is an international, open design competition for innovative upcycling ideas and new developments in material research, circular economy, social design, and transformation design. Created from waste and residual materials, entries should be sustainable, visionary, imaginative, and original.

Open to creatives with professional or semi-professional design training. International participation welcome.

A selection of the most interesting submissions, along with the winning projects, will be presented in the exhibition Ausgezeichnete Ideen at Marta Herford (13 March – 20 June 2027). The opening is 12 March 2027. The work will then be shown at Neues Museum Nürnberg and Zitadelle Spandau, Berlin.

Availability of the works for exhibitions until January 2028 is required.
