Submit your entries online at: https://foothillsartassociation.com/ Entry Fees (Non-refundable): First entry: $45, each additional entry: $10 (maximum of 4 entries). Images: Upload a high-quality JPG image </= 3 MB. Jurying will be conducted from the submitted image. BY ENTERING THIS SHOW online YOU AGREE TO: • The Liability Clause and Foothills Art Association (FAA) Standing Rules for Exhibits (located on the FAA website). • Use of your image on our website, social media platforms and for marketing/promotional purposes. • Display your work in the gallery until the end of the exhibition. RECEPTION & AWARDS Saturday, November 7, 2026 2:00 pm to 5:00pm Approximately $2,500 in cash and merchandise will be awarded. The Awards Presentation will be at 3:45 pm. IMPORTANT DATES Application Status: Artists will be notified of acceptance status by email on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Accepted entries may be featured on our website, social media, and/or promotional materials. Receiving: Accepted artwork must be delivered to the Foothills Fine Art Gallery on Thursday, October 22, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Please note that artwork acceptance is contingent on a visual comparison between the submitted digital image and the actual art. Significant discrepancies may result in rejection. Using dramatic lighting and intricate detail, her black-and-white compositions explore the raw beauty of the natural world. She is a village artist and teacher through the Village Arts & Education Foundation at the Spanish Village in Balboa Park, and she exhibits her work throughout Southern California. Having drawn since a very young age and explored several mediums over the last decade, she values the power of expression that wildlife can be portrayed in all mediums. Her artistic vision is driven by a passion for storytelling, technical precision, and creating artwork that evokes emotional connection. Christine Pardon GUIDELINES & REQUIREMENTS Media: Accepted Media: Oil, acrylic, pastel. watercolor. scratchboard, graphics (etchings, wood, and line-block prints), serigraphs, pencil, pen & ink, mixed media and non-functional sculpture. Unaccepted Media: Photographs, reprints or reproductions of original work, giclees, crafts and class work. Artwork: Each artist may submit up to four (4) images for jurying, with a maximum of two (2) accepted into the show at the Juror's discretion. All artwork must be original, not derived from copyrighted/published material and no class projects. No artwork depicting domestic or farm animals, including wild members of domesticated species (horses, cats, parrots). Wildlife must be the focal point of the painting. No anthropomorphized animals. Artwork previously exhibited in "Wildlife in Art" shows are ineligible. Finished artwork, including frame, may not exceed 48 inches in its longest dimension. Due to limited gallery space, submissions of exceptionally large pieces may be declined. The gallery reserves the right to reject any artwork deemed unacceptable. Sales: All accepted artwork must be for sale. Inquiries will be forwarded directly to the artist. A donation from the artist of 20% of the sale price will be accepted by Foothills Art Association for each work sold. Any sale of artwork hanging in the gallery is considered a gallery sale. Artwork Preparation: The use of plexiglass is required for all framed artwork normally protected by glass, with the exception of pastels. All frames (including wrap-around canvas and metal frames) require D-Rings and hanging wire. Sawtooth hangers and frames with table easels will not be accepted. Failure to comply with the Foothills exhibition guidelines will result in rejection of the artwork. Liability Clause: Foothills Art Association, the City of La Mesa, and the Dept. of Community Relations (including their officers, agents, and representatives) assume no responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of entries or personal property. Artists are solely responsible for insuring their artwork. Utmost care will be exercised with all submitted entries. Gallery Hosting: All Foothills Art Association members accepted into the show are required to host the gallery for one 2½ hour session. Sign up online during the registration process or at the time art is delivered to the gallery. If unable to host, artist must obtain a sitter from the Foothills Membership.
