Andrea Anoni Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), in partnership with the WIELS Contemporary Art Centre in Brussels, has launched a new open call for an international artist residency aimed at Spanish artists or artists residing in Spain. The initiative seeks to support artistic mobility, encourage production, and strengthen connections with key international cultural institutions. The residency will take place at WIELS Contemporary Art Centre (Belgium) over a six-month period, from July 8 to December 31, 2026. It is open to artists over 21 years old with at least two years of professional experience, working in any artistic discipline. Both emerging and established practitioners are welcome, particularly those interested in reorienting their practice or initiating new lines of research within a professional and experimental environment. The selected artist will receive a comprehensive grant covering round-trip travel to Brussels, a 40 m² private studio at WIELS, accommodation in a fully equipped nearby apartment, and a monthly stipend of €1,000 to support living expenses and production costs. The program also includes weekly mentoring sessions, studio visits by curators and critics, a fully funded field trip, and a public presentation of the developed project, which will be included in the WIELS online archive. Applications must be submitted in English by March 1, 2026 via email to [email protected]. Required documents include the official application form, CV, a description of the applicant’s artistic practice, a project proposal or residency expectations, three professional references, and a visual dossier.
