Overview
Funding is available for contemporary history and commemorative culture projects that are not adequately covered by other Berlin state funding programs and reflect Berlin's historical responsibility. Projects must have a Berlin connection and be publicly visible during the funding year.
Eligibility
Applicants must be public or private institutions, associations, subject-specific interest groups, or individuals. The majority of project participants must live and work in Berlin, or the applicant must be a Berlin-based institution providing the Berlin connection. Projects must be publicly visible in Berlin during the funding year.
Eligible projects
Projects must have a thematic Berlin connection. Excluded are purely artistic projects, profit-oriented or commercially realizable ventures, multi-year projects, film funding, catering costs, printing subsidies alone, digitization/archiving of collections, website maintenance, acquisition financing, object restoration, purely structural measures, and projects already partially funded by Berlin state administration.
Funding amount
Applicants must request a minimum of €5,000 and a maximum of €40,000. The maximum amount may only be approved in exceptional cases.
