This grant is specifically for women artists who are mothers, working in sculpture, plastic art, installation, and object art. All forms of experimental work within these genres are welcome. The goal is to enable professional artists to engage in sculptural/installative work during the four-week residency, with the special feature of allowing children to accompany their mothers. Childcare is provided for children up to 12 years old, enabling the artists to focus on their work, connect with peers, and network. A joint exhibition and catalog will be organized for all grantees.
The grant is aimed at women artists who are also mothers, residing in Germany and working in sculpture, installation, and object art. The maximum age for accompanying children is 12 years.
The grant includes a stipend of 500 Euro. Accommodation and childcare costs are not incurred by the artists. Various additional services, such as materials and organizational assistance, are provided individually. Each artist with her child/children will have a room with a small bathroom. Extensive workshops are available, including clay and metal workshops, a plaster room, a spacious attic studio, a barn, and a courtyard for larger outdoor works.
The symposia, accompanying jury, and exhibitions (including catalog) are curated by Christine D. Hölzig (Leipzig).
