About
Overview
Tres Hermanas Artist Residency is open to artists of all stages of their career, especially those whose practice directly relates to the land, conservation, environmental awareness, community building, and social activism. Writers, musicians, and chefs are also encouraged to apply. The residency is ideal for small-scale and site-specific artists.
Duration & Location
Two-week residency in Mexico.
Accommodation & Studio Space
Private accommodation with en suite bathroom. Shared kitchen and other spaces. Typically one or two artists at a time. Studio workspace in "Luna", a super adobe dome with a desk and large central area for making and experimenting. No running water or bathroom inside the dome. Starlink internet is available on the property but can be intermittent.
Equipment & Supplies
Small collection of art supplies and basic tools for sculpture available. Artists should plan to bring their own supplies. Many materials available for upcycle.
Fee & Support
1200 USD includes transportation to and from the GDL airport, two meals a day, and lodging. Excursions can be arranged at an additional cost.
Expectations
There are no expectations for a talk, exhibition, or workshop. Some artists choose to donate a work of art to the archive.
